Having spent the night in Escalante, we were only an hour from Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. This was our first time, and we had no idea what to expect, but with a filling, delicious breakfast and a beautiful, clear day ahead, it was already perfect. Climbing in elevation and out of the lush greenery, we found ourselves at the entrance to this wonderland of giant natural pillars. The scale is tremendous and our cameras do not do this place justice.
To see the landscape from the road (we stopped at every lookout), our breath was taken away.
To enter into the canyon beneath the rock tower “Hoodoos,” a breath of life was given back.
We were dipping in and out of turnouts, up and down hills and trails, til we hit the very end at Rainbow Point.
We spent the whole day exploring this multi-million year-old playground, wishing we had forethought and reserved a camp site. But that just means we need to make the trip again! It was a fulfilling day to say the least.
